BSSi2 Approach
                                                                                            _____________                                    _                                ___    ___

Your computer system is a corporate asset for doing business. It should just work so you can do your job and not listen to staff or management complaints. A problem network is a distraction and a drain on your corporate resources. The BSSi2 approach is to review twice and implement once where ever possible. We bring stability to your network, and then move forward with maintenance and enhancements. We implement industry best practices. __________________________________________________________________________________________

You never want to hear or say those dreaded words: "The network is down!" or "My PC is not working, fix it!" While you may not be able to eliminate these phrases permanently, they can be greatly minimized when your systems are properly installed and maintained. BSSi2 follows several methodologies to ensure that your computer system is in peak working condition.

Review Twice, Implement Once. Doing It Right The First Time

It's too easy to rush into things. "Ready, Fire, Aim" is not the approach you want when installing a computer system. When tackling a problem, BSSi2 reviews each situation to be sure we understand not only what the problem is but also to be sure there are no other related issues and that we understand the implications of our solutions. We then review our solution again to be sure we have no overlooked anything. Not all problems are clear cut and can be resolved with one try. Unfortunalely, that is the nature of computer problems. BSSi2 engineers understand this when implementing solutions that are right for you.

Assess,  Recommend, Stabilize, Maintain and Enhance

Whether it is a new network or just fixing a problem network, BSSi2 does not just rush in and give you a pre-packaged solution. Each company is different and therefore we need to understand what you are trying to accomplish before we can recommend a solution. We take a 5 step approach with each system:

Assess: BSSi2 takes the time to assess each situation. That means not only looking at your computer system and configurations but also talking to you. What are you trying to accomplish, who is being affected, how long has this been going on. An assessment has to be made before any problem can be resolved.

Recommend: Once an assessment has been made, BSSi2 determines a recommended course of action to resolve the issue. If it is a simple solution, we may just implement the fix. If it is a more complicated resolution, we will discuss it with you first so you understand the implications, timing and costs associated with it.

Stabilize: Part of the stabilize phase is implementing the recommended solution. Your system first needs to be stable so you can move on with your work and your staff can remain productive and confident the system is reliable. Only then should you contemplate additional features and capabilities.

Maintain: Your computer system needs regular maintenance to retain its peak performance and stability, just like a car. BSSi2 strongly recommends regular reviews of your computer systems so you can be proactive in responding to possible problems instead of being reactive to each incident.

Enhance: Your company is growing, adding staff and looking for new ways to be more efficient and to differentiate yourself from the competition. That often entails enhancements to your computer system. Now that BSSi2 has brought stability to your system, we can also help you determine how to enhance it. This is part of the long-term partnership BSSi2 believes in building with each of its clients.

Industry Best Practices

What is meant by this phrase? Why should you be interested in Industry Best Practices? Doesn't everyone install systems the same way?

Everyone does not install systems the same way. Resolutions to computer problems or options in configuring computers are not always clear cut and there is often more than one solution or option. Sometimes it more of an art than a science. Each engineer has his or her own way of doing things. A wrong or unknowledgeable decision can lead to problems.

Industry Best Practices refers to what experts in the Information Technology (IT) industry have determined to be the best way to setup and configure equipment and software. Such knowledge has been developed from years of research and practical experience. By following such practices, you are assured your systems are configured consistently, reliably and securely.
